Agadir Golf Courses: A Course-by-Course Guide (2026)

All five Agadir golf courses compared: Tazegzout, Soleil Tikida and Championship, Ocean and Dunes — character, caddy rules, which pass covers each, where to stay.

Agadir has five golf courses within about 40 minutes of the bay, and they are more varied than most visitors expect. There is a clifftop course above the Atlantic, a 36-hole club in a eucalyptus forest, and a course that plays through argan trees and wind. The last has three nines that you can combine as you like.

This guide covers what each course is actually like, who it suits, the caddy rules and which golf pass covers it. If you are planning the whole trip, with hotels, transfers and the best time to go, start with our guide to Agadir golf holidays.

Tazegzout Golf Club: the signature round

If you play one course in Agadir, make it Tazegzout. Kyle Phillips, who also designed Al Maaden in Marrakech, strung 18 holes along the cliffs above the Atlantic at Taghazout Bay, north of the city. There are sea views from almost every tee, and argan trees frame the fairways. Several holes play directly towards the ocean.

What makes it difficult is not length but elevation and wind. Holes fall and rise with the cliffs, so the yardage on the card is rarely the yardage you play, and the breeze off the ocean changes club selection through the afternoon. Distance control is the whole game. Play it in the morning if you want a score, and in the late afternoon if you want the light.

Suits: every golfer who values the setting as much as the scorecard. It ranks fourth in our list of the best golf courses in Morocco.

Stay nearby: the Hyatt Regency Taghazout Bay is minutes from the first tee. The Fairmont Taghazout Bay has direct access to the course, and the Hyatt Place Taghazout Bay sits just above it with free golf shuttles.

Soleil Golf Club: 36 holes on one site

Soleil is the workhorse of Agadir golf, which is why it appears in every one of our Agadir golf passes. It has two full courses on one site: the longer Championship course and the Tikida course.

Both are flat, walkable and well conditioned in any month. That makes Soleil the ideal first round of a trip, and the natural choice for groups playing several days in a row who want variety without changing venue. The 5-round pass includes both courses. The 3- and 4-round passes include one of them, and we will suggest the Championship course for low handicappers and the Tikida course for anyone who wants an easier start.

Suits: groups, higher handicappers, and anyone who likes to walk.

Stay nearby: the Tikida Golf Palace is surrounded by the club, with all 36 holes on site and free golf shuttles. It is the closest thing in Agadir to a pure stay-and-play.

Ocean Golf Club: the windiest test

Ocean plays through eucalyptus and argan, and it is where Agadir’s afternoon wind matters most. The trees give shelter on some holes and none on others, so a calm front nine can turn into a very different back nine as the breeze builds off the Atlantic.

A caddy is compulsory at Ocean. Budget for one, and treat it as an asset: on a windy day, local knowledge of where the ball will finish is worth several shots.

Suits: confident ball-strikers who enjoy flighting the ball and reading the wind. Book an early tee time if conditions matter to you.

Dunes Golf Club: three nines, many rounds

Dunes gives you three interchangeable nines, so you can play it twice in a week without repeating the same 18. That flexibility makes it a favourite with groups and with golfers who prefer variety over a single signature layout.

A scout caddy is compulsory at Dunes, and as everywhere in Agadir, buggies and trolleys are paid locally.

Suits: groups and repeat visitors, and mixed-ability fourballs who want to choose the length of the challenge.

Which Agadir golf pass covers which course?

All Agadir passes cover green fees only, for one named golfer, and every tee time must be pre-booked. We do that for you.

  • 3 rounds (from €280): Soleil (Tikida or Championship), Tazegzout, and Dunes or Ocean.
  • 4 rounds: Soleil (Tikida or Championship), Tazegzout, Ocean and Dunes.
  • 5 rounds: both Soleil courses, Tazegzout, Ocean and Dunes, so every course in Agadir.

Prices for the 4- and 5-round passes, and the per-round cost of each, are in the table on our Agadir golf holidays page. They are valid for the 2026–2027 season. Compare them with the Marrakech tiers on the golf passes page.

In what order should you play the Agadir courses?

Our usual five-round sequence for a seven-night stay:

  1. Soleil, Tikida: an easy, flat start after the journey.
  2. Tazegzout: in the morning, while the wind is light.
  3. Rest day: the beach, Taghazout, or a day trip to Paradise Valley or Taroudant.
  4. Ocean: early tee time, with a caddy who knows the wind.
  5. Dunes: pick two of the three nines.
  6. Soleil, Championship: the longest round, saved for when you are swinging best.

How do you get to the Agadir golf courses?

Every course is within about 40 minutes of the bay, so you never spend half the day in a car. Agadir Al Massira airport (AGA) is roughly 30 minutes from the bay hotels and 45 minutes from Taghazout Bay, and we meet you on arrival with a private transfer.

Where you stay decides which rounds are shortest. From the Taghazout Bay hotels, Tazegzout is minutes away, and Soleil, Ocean and Dunes are a drive back towards the city. From the bay itself, Soleil, Ocean and Dunes are closest, and Tazegzout becomes the longer transfer. Two hotels remove the drive altogether. The Tikida Golf Palace has Soleil’s 36 holes on site, and the Hyatt Place Taghazout Bay sits above Tazegzout, both with free golf shuttles.

On every other day we arrange private hotel–golf–hotel transfers with room for your clubs. Buggies, trolleys and caddies are booked at the course and paid locally. Typical buggy hire in Morocco runs from about €25 to €35 a round.

When do the Agadir courses play best?

All year. The Atlantic holds Agadir’s daytime highs between 21°C and 28°C in every month, so the courses are playable in shirtsleeves in January and comfortable in August, when inland Marrakech passes 38°C. The variable is wind, which tends to build through the afternoon and is strongest in spring. That is part of the fun at Tazegzout and part of the challenge at Ocean. See our month-by-month guide to golf in Morocco.

Agadir or Marrakech?

Agadir has five courses and better weather; Marrakech has around ten courses and more to do off the course. Our full comparison of Marrakech vs Agadir for golf will help you choose. If you cannot decide, play both: they are three hours apart on the A7, with Essaouira’s Mogador course on the coastal route between them.

Frequently asked questions

How many golf courses are there in Agadir?

Five, all within about 40 minutes of the bay: Tazegzout at Taghazout Bay, the Tikida and Championship courses at Soleil Golf Club, Ocean Golf Club and Dunes Golf Club. Our 5-round Agadir golf pass covers every one of them.

Which Agadir golf course is best for high handicappers?

Soleil. Both of its courses are flat, walkable and forgiving, and you can play the shorter Tikida course first to settle in. Dunes is also a good choice because its three nines let you vary the length and challenge of the round.

Do I need a caddy in Agadir?

Only at two courses. A caddy is compulsory at Ocean Golf Club, and a scout caddy is compulsory at Dunes Golf Club. Elsewhere caddies are optional. Caddies, buggies and trolleys are paid locally and are not included in green fees or golf passes.

What is the best order to play the Agadir golf courses?

Start at Soleil to find your rhythm, play Tazegzout mid-week when you are swinging well, then finish with Ocean and Dunes. Book the most exposed courses, Tazegzout and Ocean, in the morning, before the Atlantic breeze builds in the afternoon.
