What is the best one-week golf tour of Morocco?

For pure golf, Once Upon a Time: Golf in Marrakech. Seven nights, five rounds, five different courses, and you never change hotel.

The week opens at the Royal Golf Marrakech, the second-oldest course in the country, opened in 1927. It was designed by Arnaud Massy and Gustave Golias, has 27 holes, and counts Winston Churchill and President Eisenhower among its past players. The following days rotate through the city’s modern courses: Al Maaden, Assoufid or Akenza, Noria, and the Fairmont Royal Palm or Samanah. You can swap in Amelkis, PalmGolf Ourika or the Palmeraie on any day.

Between rounds you get a guided afternoon in the medina and Djemaa El Fna square, a morning at the Majorelle Gardens and Bahia Palace, dinner in a riad in the old town, dinner under the stars in the Agafay desert, and a farewell dinner with a show.

Can you combine two destinations in one week?

Yes, and it is our most-requested format. Two tours split seven nights between a city and the Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, the beachfront resort in El Jadida about an hour from Casablanca airport.

Marrakech & Mazagan (7 nights, 5 rounds). Fly into Casablanca and spend three nights at Mazagan. You play its on-site course and the Royal Golf El Jadida, ten minutes away, with a guided afternoon in Casablanca in between. Then transfer to Marrakech for four nights and three rounds, for example the Royal Palm or Assoufid, Akenza or Noria, and Al Maaden or PalmGolf Ourika. You leave from Marrakech, or from Casablanca for a supplement.

Rabat & Mazagan (7 nights, 5 rounds). Start with three nights in Rabat and two rounds, usually on the Blue Course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, the capital’s historic royal club. The alternatives are Montgomerie Rabat or Bahia Beach Golf Club in Bouznika. After a guided tour of Casablanca, you finish with four nights at Mazagan on half board and three more rounds. Royal Golf Dar Es Salam is closed on Mondays, so we plan around that.

Is there a golf tour for Fez and the Middle Atlas?

Fez & Ifrane (7 nights, 4 rounds) is the tour for golfers who want culture first. You fly into Fez and spend four nights in the city. You play the Royal Golf de Fès and Oued Fès Golf Club, with a guided day in the medieval medina, its tanneries and medersas, and dinner in a traditional restaurant.

You then drive up to Ifrane for three nights at the five-star Michlifen Resort & Golf, with dinners included. You play two rounds at the Michlifen Golf & Country Club, a Jack Nicklaus signature course set in cedar and oak forest, a very different kind of golf from anywhere else in Morocco. Fez airport is about 1 hour 15 minutes from Ifrane for the flight home.

What if not everyone in the group plays golf?

Choose the Morocco Golf & Desert Adventure (7 nights, 2 rounds). It is built for mixed groups: three days of road trip and two days of golf.

From Marrakech you cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n’Tichka pass. You visit the Kasbah of Telouet and the UNESCO-listed Aït Ben Haddou, then follow the Draa Valley to Merzouga. There you ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset and a night in a luxury desert camp. The return runs through the Todra Gorges, the Dades Valley and the Valley of Roses. Back in Marrakech, two rounds at courses such as Akenza, the Royal Palm, Assoufid, Al Maaden or the Royal Golf are paired with the medina, the Majorelle Gardens and a dinner show.

Which tour covers Morocco’s imperial cities?

The Imperial Cities Golf Tour (10 nights, 5 rounds) is our classic grand tour of Morocco, and it runs from Marrakech or Casablanca.

• Marrakech (5 nights): two rounds, a guided tour of the medina, and a farewell dinner with a show.
• Casablanca and Rabat (2 nights): a guided visit of Casablanca, including a panoramic view of the Hassan II Mosque, then a round on the Blue Course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam and a guided afternoon at the Hassan Tower, Chellah and the Oudayas.
• Meknes and Fez (2 nights): Bab Mansour on the way, then a round at the Royal Golf de Fès or Oued Fès and a guided walk through the medina of Fez.
• Ifrane (1 night): a round at Michlifen, then the drive back to Marrakech over the Middle Atlas via Azrou.

Dinners are included every evening, and you travel between cities in a deluxe air-conditioned minibus. A tour guide can accompany you for the whole trip for a daily supplement.

What is the longest golf tour of Morocco?

The Morocco Grand Golf Tour (14 nights, 6 rounds) puts everything above into one private tour from Casablanca.

It starts with two nights at Mazagan and continues through Rabat (Dar Es Salam), Meknes and Fez (Royal Golf de Fès), and Ifrane (Michlifen). From there the route goes south to the Sahara: Erfoud, a night in a luxury camp in the Merzouga dunes, the Todra Gorges, the Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, and back over the Atlas via Aït Ben Haddou and Telouet. It ends with two rounds in Marrakech and a final night in Casablanca.

It is the tour for golfers who want to see Morocco properly: six courses, four imperial cities, the Atlantic coast, the mountains and the desert, with an English-speaking driver throughout.

What should you know before booking a golf tour in Morocco?

• Caddies are compulsory at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, Royal Golf Marrakech, Royal Golf El Jadida and the Fairmont Royal Palm. Caddies, buggies and trolleys are paid locally and are not included in the tour price.
• Royal Golf Dar Es Salam is closed on Mondays. We schedule the Rabat round around it, or switch to Montgomerie Rabat or Bahia Beach.
• Not included: international flights, travel insurance, lunches, drinks and tips.

How much does a golf tour of Morocco cost?

Tours are priced per golfer and depend on the season, your hotels, the size of the group and how many rounds you play, so we quote each one individually. For a sense of scale: our Marrakech golf passes start at €280 for three rounds, and hotel-and-golf packages elsewhere on the site start at around €400 per golfer for three nights. A tour adds guided visits, dinners and private transport on top.
