Embark on a beautiful day trip from Marrakech to the lush Ourika Valley and the charming mountain village of Setti Fatma, nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. In Setti Fatma, follow your local guide on a refreshing hike to the famous seven waterfalls, rewarded with stunning views and the sounds of cascading water. At midday, a local Berber family welcomes you for a traditional home-cooked lunch of tajine, freshly baked bread and seasonal ingredients before you explore the village and head back to Marrakech.

Walk up the Ourika valley to Tazzintout and onwards to the Ait Oucheg valleys, with bird’s-eye views of the villages of Anammer and Aguerd, literally carved out of the mountainside. Make your way through the unusual Aguerd gorge and the juniper and cedar forests to end this great hike in the village of Imi n’Taddart.

Our intimate knowledge of the valley and long-established links with the locals let you fully appreciate this gentle exposure to the High Atlas foothills, landscapes, culture and people. Sit down to a homemade tajine lunch at Rachid’s, cooked with fresh local produce, and break bread with your village hosts while breathing in the fresh mountain air.

At around 6:30 AM (or 5:30 AM in summer) you are picked up directly from your hotel or riad and driven to the palm groves. At the air base, guests are welcomed with tea, coffee and Moroccan pastries and watch the preparation of the balloon before take-off.

The flight lasts approximately one hour and offers aerial views of Marrakech and the surrounding areas, with free Wi-Fi on board. Following the flight, a traditional Berber breakfast is served in a caidal tent at the landing site, and each participant receives a personal flight certificate from the pilot before transferring back to their hotel.
