Golf in Morocco — Your Questions Answered

When is the best time to play golf in Morocco?

Morocco is a year-round golf destination, but the most comfortable conditions run from October to April, when temperatures are mild and the courses are at their best. Marrakech and Agadir stay very playable through winter, while spring and autumn are ideal across the whole country.

Can I play golf in Morocco in summer?

Yes. July and August get hot inland around Marrakech, where early-morning tee times are best. Coastal destinations such as Agadir, Essaouira and El Jadida stay noticeably cooler thanks to Atlantic breezes, making them comfortable choices for summer golf.

Which Moroccan cities are best for a golf holiday?

Marrakech offers the widest choice of championship courses, Agadir pairs golf with Atlantic beaches and sunshine, and Rabat is home to the famous Royal Golf Dar Es Salam. Tangier, Casablanca, El Jadida and Essaouira round out the options.

Is Marrakech or Agadir better for a golf holiday?

Both are superb. Marrakech has the widest choice of championship courses plus a lively medina, restaurants and nightlife, while Agadir pairs dependable year-round sunshine with Atlantic beaches and a relaxed resort feel. Many guests combine the two in one multi-centre trip.

How many golf courses are there in Morocco, and which are the best?

Morocco has more than 40 golf courses, several designed by names like Robert Trent Jones Sr. Standout layouts include Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, Amelkis and Al Maaden in Marrakech, and Golf du Soleil in Agadir.

Do I need a handicap certificate to play?

Most Moroccan courses welcome golfers of all abilities and do not strictly require a handicap certificate, although a few championship courses may ask for proof of ability in high season. We confirm the exact requirement for each course when you book.

Can beginners and high-handicap golfers play in Morocco?

Absolutely. Moroccan courses welcome every ability and most do not require a handicap certificate. Many resorts have driving ranges, academies and English-speaking PGA professionals offering lessons, so beginners and improvers are very well looked after.

What is a Morocco golf pass and what does it include?

A golf pass is a pre-paid bundle of green fees across a selection of courses in one region, such as Marrakech or Agadir. It covers green fees only — golf buggies, caddies, trolleys and club hire are available as paid extras.

Can I hire golf clubs and equipment in Morocco?

Yes. Most courses and resorts offer club hire alongside buggies, trolleys and caddies, so you can travel light. Just tell us your requirements when booking and we will have rental equipment ready for your first tee time.

What should I wear to play golf in Morocco?

Standard golf attire applies: a collared shirt, tailored shorts or trousers, and soft-spike golf shoes. Light, breathable fabrics suit the warm climate, with a layer for early mornings or winter rounds. Denim and sports vests are usually not permitted on course.

Are flights, hotels and transfers included?

As a Morocco-based DMC we arrange hotels (from 5★ resorts to boutique riads), private airport and golf transfers, tee times and local guides. Flights are not included, but we are happy to advise on the best routes for your trip.

Do you provide airport and golf-course transfers?

Yes. Private airport and golf-course transfers are arranged as standard, so you are met on arrival and driven door-to-door throughout your stay. Vehicles are matched to your group, from private cars to minibuses for larger golf societies.

Is English spoken on Moroccan golf courses?

Yes. Morocco's official languages are Arabic and French, but English is widely spoken at golf clubs, resorts and tourist hotels. Our team and local guides speak English and French, so you will have no trouble communicating during your trip.

Do I need a visa to visit Morocco?

Many nationalities — including the UK, EU, US, Canada and Australia — can enter Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days as tourists, with a passport valid for at least six months. Always confirm the current entry rules for your nationality before travelling.

Is Morocco a safe destination for a golf holiday?

Yes. Morocco is one of the most stable and welcoming destinations in North Africa, and its golf resorts, cities and tourist areas are well used to international visitors. As a local DMC we provide private transfers and on-the-ground support throughout your trip.

How much does a golf holiday in Morocco cost?

It depends on your choice of courses, hotels, season and group size. As a guide, our green-fee golf passes start from around €280 per golfer, and we build complete packages — hotels, transfers and tee times — to suit your budget. Share your dates for a tailored quote.

What currency are prices in and how do I pay?

Prices are quoted in euros (EUR) per golfer unless stated otherwise. Once we confirm availability we send a booking summary with payment details; a deposit secures your trip and the balance is due before arrival.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking several weeks ahead, and earlier for travel during the peak October–April season or for large groups, to secure preferred tee times and hotels. We can sometimes accommodate shorter lead times — just ask.

Can you tailor an itinerary for groups or mixed-ability parties?

Yes. Every trip is built around your group — your handicaps, dates, party size and preferred hotels. We regularly arrange holidays for couples, golf societies, corporate groups and mixed golf and non-golf parties.

Do you arrange non-golf activities and excursions?

Absolutely. Alongside golf we organise excursions and leisure tours — from Marrakech medina tours and desert experiences to spa days and food experiences — so non-golfing partners enjoy the trip too.

Why book with a local Morocco golf specialist instead of arranging it myself?

As a Morocco-based DMC we hold direct relationships with courses and hotels, secure preferred tee times, and manage transfers, guides and any on-the-ground issues for you. You gain local expertise, a single point of contact and a tailored itinerary — typically at no extra cost versus booking separately.
